Hello! My name is Maria Camarca, and I'm a final-year Ph.D. candidate in planetary science at Caltech.

Our solar system retains an incredible treasury of planetary satellites, each with a unique geologic story to tell. From the colorful volcanic plains of Io to the heavily impact-scarred terrain of Callisto (right), there is a whole continuum of surface activity at the ready for us to learn from. I'm interested in using big telescopes on the ground and in space to access and interpret the wonderful geologic narratives encoded in the surfaces of our icy satellites. I am a member of Prof. Katherine de Kleer's research group.
