Research Experience

2012 - Present

Seismological Laboratory, Caltech, USA

Post-doctoral scholar in Geophysics.

Develop a general formalism to explicitly take prediction uncertainties into account and improve static and kinematic source modeling.

Multiple CMT inversions for moderate to large earthquakes.

Long-period surface waves analysis for robust characterization of large earthquakes.

Design and optimization of finite-fault inversions based on very dense seismic networks.

2008 - 2011

Ph.D. in geophysics. Advisor: Prof. Luis Rivera.

W-phase source inversion: Optimization and parallelization of the code, extension of the algorithm to the three components of the ground motion.

Application of the W-phase algorithm for Mw>=6.0 worldwide earthquakes between 1990 and 2010.

Adapting the W-phase fast source inversion to regional distances: Japan and Mexican region.
