Planet Formation in Binary Systems

Circumbinary planets challenge canonical planet formation theories. Their pile up beyond the stability limit of the binary system seems to suggest it's the signature of planet formation process. We investigate the behaviour of both dust and gas (as a two-fluid system) in binary star systems using Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and examine whether dust gets trapped in the pressure maximum beyond the inner edge of the circumbinary disc.
