In the spring of 2002, Professor Jason Saleeby taught a
Ge 121b mapping class in the southern Sierra Nevada. The class,
consisting of both undergraduate and graduate students, is
an advanced mapping course designed to familiarize students
with metamorphic rocks in the field and is taught yearly.
In this picture, undergraduate Auna Moser does a handstand,
with the metamorphic rocks of the Lake Isabella roof pendant
as her background. The rocks are part of the early Mesozoic
King Sequence that can be traced the length of the batholith.
