Ice Stream B, 1991

Studying the causes and dynamics of ice stream flow in West Antarctica.

A river of ice flows inexorably toward the Ross ice shelf at 1-2 meters per day, giving little hint as one takes the moment to reflect on this truly unique and awesome environment.
