The Ge 11b class explores the vast intertidal zone off
the shore of San Felipe in Baja California. The change of
tides exposed a half-mile wide strip of rippled mud, with
plenty of hermit crabs and sand dollars. Due to the extremely
flat shelf of the Gulf of California, a small tidal change
in sea level exposed a very large area.
